Tribute to B. K. S. Iyengar

IyengarYoga legend, B. K. S. Iyengar, passed away Wednesday, August 20th in the southern India at the age of 95 from heart failure. He was an amazing man and opened the door of yoga to so many.

Iyengar survived tuberculosis, typhoid and malaria as a child. He credited yoga with saving his life. He began teaching yoga at the young age of 17.  

Iyengar helped introduce the practice of yoga to the Western world and helped people to awaken to the knowledge of an inner life. He made yoga accessible to everyone regardless of differences and beliefs.
